AquaStar™ BWMS
System Overview
- General Description
-
- AquaStar™ BWMS is as an eco-friendly and efficient treatment of the ballast water based on principles of electrolysis.
- In AquaStar™ BWMS TRO (including AS) is produced in-situ by electrolyzing the natural seawater or brackish water. (TRO : Total Residual Oxidant = Residual active substance)
-
- AquaStar™ BWMS is composed of Smart Pipe Unit, Nuetralization Unit, Control System Unit.
- The design of these components is very simple, and these components can be easy to directly install the main ballast pipe line of vessel.
- Smart Pipe Unit and Electrolyzer Unit installed in Ballasting Process Line are used to disinfect.
- Neutralization Unit installed inDe-ballasting Process Line is used to discharge treated water similar to TRO concentration of the natural seawater.
- Control System Unit can be possible to automatically or manually control the BWMS, and store or monitor all data (operation, alarm and instrument condition) related to monitoring and operating of AquaStar™ BWMS
- Ballasting
-
- Ballast Pump(BP) ▶Main Flow Meter(MFM) ▶ Smart Pipe Unit(SP) ▶ Electrolyzer Unit(EL) ▶ Gas Separator Unit(GS) ▶ Ballast Tank
- The smart pipe damages and weakens the aquatic organisms especially larger than 50 ㎛ in the ballast water. This increases the disinfection efficiency of the second stage. During the second stage the harmful aquatic organisms are disinfected by the TRO generated by the four Electrolyzer as the seawater passes through the units.
- De-Ballasting
-
- Ballast Tank ▶ Neutralizing Agent Injection Port(NIP) ▶ Ballast Pump(BP) ▶ Main Flow Meter(MFM) ▶ TRO Sensor ▶ Overboard Discharge
- Neutralizing agent is injected into the deballasting line before discharging. The operation is automatic and the amount of neutralizing agent is regulated by the control system unit adjusting the flow rate of the neutralizing agent pump.
